AUGURI! - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Oggi il mio piccolo e io compiamo gli anni. Lui ne fa tre e a scuola lo hanno festeggiato con torta finta e palloncini. I bimbi ci sono rimasti un pò male perchè pensavano di mangiare la torta e, fino che tutti non hanno toccato per verificare che fosse finta, non si sono convinti. Io da tre anni è come se non festeggiassi più. Tutti quelli che chiamano fanno gli auguri a Simone e di me si dimenticano... Beh se questo volesse dire che non invecchio più non sarebbe male ma ho paura che non funzioni così.

Today is the birthday of my youngest son and mine. He is three yars old and in his school the teacher organized a party for him with the felt cake and baloons. I'll show the pictures in the next days. Since he is born I don't celebrate because all the friends and relatives celebrate only Simone. So I don't grow old...

SCALDOTTO MAMMA

Nei giorni scorsi avevo finito di preparare i blocchi per lo scaldotto di mia mamma e oggi, grazie alla pazienza infinita di mio marito, l'ho assemblata. Com'è? A me piace anche se partendo da stoffe già comprate, non ho potuto fare il sashing alto come volevo. Anche il bordo esterno sarebbe stato più bello un pò più alto ma va bene lo stesso. Domani quando farò vedere a mia mamma il top vi dico se le è piaciuto. Come lo trapunto? Io pensavo di trapuntare lo "sfondo" in modo che risaltino le cornici rosa e marroni. Boh, spero che mi venga in mente qualcosa o meglio che qualcuno mi suggerisca cosa sia megli fare. Adesso mi posso dedicare ai tulipani per il Patch Med.

In the last days I finished the blocks for the quilt I want to give to my mother and today, thanks to my husband (he looks after children), I joined them. What do you think? I like it but I'd like to make a wider sashing (this is only 1"), also the outer border should be wider. I had no more fabric. Tomorrow I'll show the top to my mom and I'll tell you if she loves it. How can I quilt it? I don't know and I hope someone gives me an advice. Now I have to make the tulips for the Patch Med.

TORTA DI SIMONE

Come promesso questo fine settimana mi sono dedicata alla torta di Simone che fra una settimana compie 3 anni. Non solo mi ha aiutato ma le fragole le ha fortemente volute lui e così l'ho accontentato. Adesso riprendo lo scaldotto di mia mamma.
I promised my son to make a cake like the Davide's one. So in the week end I work on it and Simone helped me. His birthday will be next week and he wanted the strawberrys on his cake and so I made.
